The artist completed her primary and secondary education in Bursa. In 1998, she graduated from Dumlupınar University, Tile Processing Department with second place. In 2008, she graduated from Mimar Sinan University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Traditional Turkish Arts, Tile Main Art Branch, as the top student. She has received honors in various competitions.
She also gave seminars on Turkish tile art. Her articles were published in various culture and art magazines. She attended many exhibitions at domestic and international cities and participated in various projects. The artist's works are included in many collections, public spaces and interiors of many institutions.
Fatma Şan continues her works in her studio and at Baruthane Art Center in Istanbul.
